Four major cities tour is the best option for those who want to see the most important places of Nepal in a short while. We in Nepal call cities of Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Lumbini four pearls of the country.
The tour starts in Kathmandu – the beautiful capital of Nepal, situated in the Kathmandu valley. Did you know that it is known as the city of Temples? Kathmandu is famous for its numerous temples, historical monuments and beautiful palaces, listed by UNESCO. These temples are visited by thousands of tourists and pilgrims from all over the world every year. Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath, cities of Bhaktapur and Patan – this is just a small part that you will be able to visit.
Our next stop will be in Pokhara – a city on Phewa Lake in central Nepal, which is considered the tourist capital of Nepal. Pokhara is known as a gateway for the trekkers undertaking the Annapurna Circuit, a popular trail in the Himalayas. The main sightseeings of the city are a Tal Barahi Temple, a 2-story pagoda hidden in the trees on an island in the middle of the lake, a Peace stupa and numerous caves.
Another place of visit is a Chitwan National park – the first National park of the country, established in 1973 and granted the status of a World Heritage Site in 1984. Feel as a pioneer of these lands and discover the diverse wildlife of Nepal while walking through the real jungles. To the east of Chitwan National Park there is the Parsa National Park, and to the south – the Valmiki National Park, where the Indian Tiger Reserve is located.
And finally Lumbini. A birthplace of the Lord Buddha is supposed to be a holy place for all the Buddhists. And Buddhism is one of the major religions in Nepal. The Great Drigung Kagyud Lotus Stupa is amazingly beautiful from the architectural point of view and, without any doubts, a real symbol of Lumbini. The stupa was constructed by the German Tara Foundation and contains a hollow crown partly covered in glass, revealing a small Buddha within. The domed ceiling of the main prayer room is covered in Buddhist murals.
Do you want to feel the heart of Nepal? Then this tour is just for you.
