Mt. Manaslu (or Kutang) is the eighth-highest mountain in the world at 8,163 meters high and situated in the west-central part of Nepal. The name Manaslu came from Sanskrit and means “mountain of the spirit”.
The Manaslu region offers a lot of trekking options. One of the most popular is Manaslu trekking route of 177, permitted by the government of Nepal only in 1991.
The Tsum valley is a valley situated at the altitude between 2000 to 3500 meters in the western Nepal. The valley has 33 villages with about 529 households. It is inhabited by locals called Tsumba. They are the indigenous people of the valley, practicing Bon shamanism and Buddhism.
